Resilient Consult is a Wigan-based consultancy that keeps your buildings and projects compliant, with one person to deal with for fire, health and safety and construction.

What we do

Three disciplines, one contact

Most buildings need all three at some point. Keeping them with one consultant means the fire survey, the safety paperwork and the building work stop contradicting each other.

Why one consultant

Why use one set of health and safety consultants for everything?

Most organisations that own or run buildings deal with several advisers: a fire risk assessor, a door inspector, a health and safety adviser, a surveyor for building work. Each produces a report, and nobody joins them up. Resilient Consult gives you one point of contact who scopes the work, arranges the right specialists, checks what comes back and tells you plainly what needs doing next.

Since the Building Safety Act 2022, that joined-up view matters more. Building work now has named dutyholders, and higher-risk residential buildings need a golden thread of accurate, digital safety information. Fire door checks are a legal routine in many blocks of flats, and a hole cut through a compartment wall during a refit can undo a fire strategy. When the same team looks after construction, health and safety and fire, those gaps are far easier to spot and close.

Working with us

What working with us looks like

  • One contact throughout

You speak to the same person from the first enquiry to the final report, whichever specialists are involved. No chasing three firms for one answer.

  • From survey to sign-off

We do not stop at a list of defects. If a survey finds problems, we can arrange and manage the remedial work, then confirm it has been completed properly.

  • Vetted specialists, certificates shown

Specialist work is carried out by partners who hold the relevant qualifications and third-party certification for that work. You see their certificates rather than taking our word for it.

  • Reports in plain English

Findings are written so a facilities manager, bursar or board can act on them. Each issue comes with a clear priority and a sensible next step.

  • Wigan-based, North West focused

We work across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire, so site visits and follow-up meetings are practical rather than an expensive trip.

  • Scope agreed before work starts

You receive a fixed proposal that sets out what is included and what is not. If something changes on site, we discuss it with you first.

How it works

From first conversation to signed-off records

Every job starts with a scope you can read and ends with paperwork you can keep. In between, you deal with one person.

  1. Tell us about the building or project

What it is, where it is and what is worrying you. Drawings, old reports or a few photos help.

  2. Scope and proposal

We set out what needs doing, who will do it and when, in writing, before anything starts.

  3. Survey, advice or works

We carry it out or arrange the right specialist, and manage it to the agreed scope.

  4. Report and records

Clear findings, prioritised actions and the evidence to show you met your duties.

FAQs

Questions clients ask first

All questions

What does Resilient Consult do?

We are a construction and compliance consultancy covering three areas: fire safety, health and safety, and construction consultancy. That ranges from fire risk assessments and fire door inspections to COSHH assessments, CDM support, quantity surveying and building surveys. You have one point of contact who scopes the work, arranges it, checks the results and reports back, so you are not managing several separate advisers yourself.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Wigan and work across the North West, including Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire. That covers towns such as Bolton, Warrington, St Helens, Preston and Chorley, as well as Manchester and Liverpool. For larger jobs or multi-site clients we can work further afield on request. Send us the details and we will tell you straight away whether it is something we can take on.

Who actually carries out the surveys and works?

We scope, manage and check every job ourselves. Specialist parts, such as fire surveys and remedial works, asbestos surveys, legionella assessments, training and alarm installations, are carried out through vetted specialist partners who hold the relevant qualifications and third-party certification for that work. You see their certificates. We remain your single point of contact and check both the work and the paperwork before it reaches you.

What do your reports look like?

They are written in plain English with each finding located, photographed and given a clear priority. Where remedial work follows, you receive before, during and after photographs, a log of materials used and the certificates for specialist work. Long programmes come with regular progress reports. Everything is supplied digitally for you to keep, ready for your safety file, an audit or the golden thread for higher-risk buildings.

How much will it cost?

It depends on the size and type of building, the access available and what the work involves, so we do not publish set prices. Once we understand the job, we send a fixed proposal setting out exactly what is included, who will do it and what you will receive. If anything outside that scope comes up on site, we discuss it with you before any extra work goes ahead.

What is it about? (tick any)
For example: a four-storey block of flats that needs its fire risk assessment reviewed and the flat entrance doors checked. Or: an office refurbishment starting in spring that needs a Principal Designer and a cost plan.
Optional. Photos of the area, or an image of a plan or old report, help us scope it.
